- Domaine de FOTA is a private property managed by Princess Esther and Baudouine KAMATARI.
- The Domaine de Fota is a protected natural and historical area
- Access is forbidden to anyone from outside the estate.
- All camping is strictly forbidden on the estate.
- Any uprooting of trees or planting without authorization is prohibited. It was recently noted that more than 4000 trees that had been planted by Princess Agrippina Kamatari had been cleared by a third party without authorization.
Violators will be subject to criminal prosecution according to Burundian laws before the competent authorities:
- Law of 25/5/2021 environmental codes, Article 228: Anyone who clears any kind of forest or afforestation that has been the subject of development, without prior authorization from the environment shall be punished by a penal servitude of three months to five years and a fine of 100 to 200 million Burundian francs or by one of his penalties only.
